Dodgeball is a game in which players on two teams try to throw balls at each other while avoiding being hit themselves. In North America, the game is typically played among children ages 6–12 in elementary school. However, internationally, the sport has also emerged as a popular primary school, secondary school and in some countries universities.

The Students' Dodgeball Club was founded in 2016. Although the club is still young and growing in HKUST, but it aims to increase students’ awareness and knowledge about dodgeball and its professional competition. Members who are dedicated to improve their skills through training or demonstrate immense interest in the sports will be recruited as a University Team Member. The team may represent the University in inter-varsity competitions as well as external professional associations competitions. Dodgeball club is open to all students and looking forward to new members from different backgrounds joining the sport.
